on this day in history

1829 Chang and Eng, a pair of conjoined twins from Siam, arrived in Boston to be exhibited to the Western world. (The term Siamese twins became a common phrase for conjoined twins.)
1954 Sports Illustrated was first published by Time Inc.
1962
Ringo Starr was picked to replace Pete Best as the drummer for the Beatles. Best had been with the group for about 2 1/2 years.
1977
Singer Elvis Presley died at Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tenn., at age 42. (editor's note: supposedly)
1993
Harvey Weinstein was rescued from a 14-foot-deep pit by
New York Police. He was held there ransom for nearly two weeks.
2002 Wickstrom Adventures officially launched (not the blog, the actual adventures).
Five years, two universities, four apartments, two fish (RIP), two cars (RIP, Sentra), eight jobs, several hundred pairs of shoes, zero broken bones, one cross-country road trip, too many (mis)adventures to count and we're still rockin' the Casbah. Okay, everything but the Casbah part -- I just like to be rockin' something.

Seriously, being married to the fabulous Mr. Wickstrom has been the time of my life. And I've never felt this way before. I swear. It's the truth.

Did you know I like to quote songs as if they were my own, original words?

Anyway, happy anniversary to us! Here's to fifty more years (and as many shoes)! Chris, you're amazing and not only because you agreed to stick with me. I wanna stickwitu my baby (again with the songs, jeesh). Love you!
