Two Wickstromscicles and a frozen dad

Tuesday morning we swathed ourselves in every warm layer we could get our hands on, pounded the pavement for four-and-a-half miles (each way -- uphill on the way home), braved below-freezing temperatures, maneuvered through oceans of people and watched the historic swearing in of this guy:A few people had the same idea. Can you see us? We're at the base of the Washington Monument.
We watched on the giant jumbotrons.
Luckily I was too cold to drink, thus narrowly avoiding the acres and acres of port-a-potties.
It was awesome, crowded, historic, exciting, memorable, FRIGID, journal-worthy and even though my bootie hurts from standing for hours and walking UPHILL NINE miles (okay, fine, only four were uphill), I'm so glad we went.

We still ended up as Wickstromscicles, though.

So fun! and so cold! I hope you thawed out okay.

We missed out on the fun event due to the possible fact of a little Cooleyisicle. We decided not to risk it stay home. It looked like fun, though!

I didn't know you guys went! Me & Dan went too and totally froze our butts off. I'm jealous you guys were by the Washington monument, we went further and got stuck for an hour cuz they closed the sidewalks. : (
